Making a Splash in #PortMoody

I always love to get out to local events to show my support, as well as expose Abby to a real sense of community. As it turns out, the Tri-Cities often have some pretty great events and many of them are free or a very low fee. I’m looking forward to being even more involved in our community in 2012 with our growing involvement as a business in local art fairs, farmer’s markets and a hope to expand into the craft fair market this year. I love being able to attend and photograph festivals and other events as well.

The emersion of people into a cold body of water in the Lower Mainland has existed since 1920, in Vancouver particularly. White Rock has held one for at least 50 years, and North Vancouver and Port Moody also hold their own.

Plunging on New Year’s day is certainly not limited to places with oceans, as many people across the US and Canada submerge themselves into lakes and rivers alike.

To be honest, I think they’re crazy. But maybe one day I’ll do it just to say that I have.
