As a working family, it’s very hard for us to find time to get away together. I’m able to take Abby out of town to travel more often than other families get away, but it is hard for us to find the time with Nathan. This Spring Break, we’ve had so many amazing experiences, including a trip to the Island for me, two trips there for Abby, and today we were very fortunate to be invited to enjoy a stay at The Harrison Hot Springs Hotel & Spa. Over the next week I’ll be telling you more about the Resort, the town of Harrison, and our experiences at local restaurants in the town, but today I just wanted to share some of my initial feelings on the experience.
The Harrison Hot Springs Hotel & Spa is so much more relaxed than I initially thought it would be. We were met with courteous and knowledgeable staff right away. From check-in, to where we bought our coffee, to where the three of us stood fully clothed, staring out at the hot springs. Each time we were met with friendly people who could tell us exactly what we needed to know.
As usual, I snapped some basic photos of our day as it went on, posting them to Instagram. So, much like this post is a first impression of our stay, these pictures kind of offer you a sneak peak into the things we got to enjoy here at Harrison.
At nine o’clock this morning, we bussed down to a local car rental service, picking up this adorably happy looking Mazda 3.
Strapped in and ready to go, we’re all smiles.
On the Open Road…
Finally having arrived, we wait in the Fraser Room for our welcome and hello meeting.
After staying in Toronto, the room we were assigned in the East tower was amazingly spacious.
First stop for me, of course caffeine.
Abby was itching to go for a swim, so we headed upstairs to let Abby get changed and everything, while I got ready for my very special spa treatment.
We tried to take a nice one, but ended up with goofy.
After my spa treatment I was all smiles…
Nathan and Abby played in the pool, and when I was done at the spa we all headed back up stairs to get ready for snacks and drinks before supper.
All dolled up and ready for dinner.
The Lakeside Cafe offered tasty food, kid friendly environment and an incredible mountain and lake view. I can’t tell you how relaxing it was dining here with kids.
All in all, despite only being here for a few hours so far, we have had an amazing time. We got finished with dinner and went for an enjoyable walk along the waterfront to work off that dessert. I can’t wait to tell you why Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa is a fabulous choice for any family!
