Food Is Fuel Friday Feature : Hemp & Sesame Chips
President’s Choice Hemp & Sesame Tortilla Chips – $2.50CAD
On our regular Monday night trip to the Real Canadian Superstore, I often moan in the cereal section that they don’t carry the larger, eco-bag of hemp granola. I moan in the alternate milk section that there is a vast selection of soy milks (and we all know how I feel about soy, but if you don’t… BAAAAD). Moan moan moan. Give me hemp.
We started our shopping trip as usual, but noticed that some things were changing. The baby section is being added to, lots of strollers and carseats, exer-saucers and that sort of thing. But we also noticed a pretty cool development at our Superstore. If you shop at Superstore (and let’s be honest… In this economy it is HARD to shop at small, independent grocery stores…. Don’t beat yourself up), be sure to tell YOUR local Superstore to follow the lead of ours at 1301 Lougheed HWY in Coquitlam, BC.
When I saw this product I simply couldn’t pass it up. I picked up two bags and we opened them as soon as we got home. I have to say, they’re delicious. Just like a tortilla chip, but I took comfort in knowing that there were some good things in the snack I was having. Your kids would never know, and the best thing was that they were also inexpensive. Especially considering the usual price of anything that caters to the healthy eating market!
The taste is hempy, and for some people it can be over powering. My only advice is to stick with hemp. You won’t regret it. And nothing but Kudos to the people at Don Godard’s Superstore, Coquitlam, as well as the people at President’s Choice. Keep offering us healthy choices, using your blue label as a guide, and people will flock to a large store that allows for healthy options at a decent price. And with weekly incentives to shop, you really can’t go wrong.

I always happily surprised by how good and often very nutritious Super Store’s President’s Choice brand food is. I haven’t tried these chips yet but I will grab a bag next time I go!
that is super awesome. I am going to go check my superstore for that! I bet those would be really really awesome with some home-made hummus. OOh goody goody.
They have them at the Metrotown Store too!
they are 2.00 CAD on Marine Drive. Stange. I wonder if they were just on sale this week.
