As a blogger, I’ve had the chance to experience a lot of cool events and ideas for branding in the Vancouver area and beyond. When I was asked to attend a morning event just before Mother’s Day at an innovative new shop called Caya, I was totally stoked to see what this company had in store. The reason being, as you all know, I’m a mom and a blogger, but I’m also a photographer. Because of these callings in my life, I’m a highly connected woman. Even though I don’t have a cellular phone… Caya, I knew, would have plenty to offer me in terms of new technology and products.
Myself and a few other bloggers from the lower mainland were invited to this great little event where we were served muffins and coffee from Starbucks. Being that I’m a princess (and was excruciatingly tired that day), I opted for an espresso to get me into the business zone.
Caya is a store that’s powered by Telus, who also owns Black’s Photography. As a photographer, a lot of what this store embodies really appealed to me. It’s kind of the mecca for connected people, not just for moms. If you were looking for a cell phone, a smart phone or a printing store? You could find all of these services at Caya, along with knowledgeable and friendly staff in a really clean and modern environment.
Working off the idea that so many of us now use our smart phones as handheld computers, cameras and our connection to social media, Caya has really tapped into this new world of digital photography on the go with all they have to offer. At these computer kiosks in store, you can create photo books for nearly any occasion with amazing customization options. They also have Quick books available in a variety of sizes and colours, which you can have finished in as little as an hour. For someone like me, who nearly always has some event or party to attend that I’ve forgotten, these Quick Books are a great idea to gift to friends and family members.
For the fashion savvy streak in all of us, Caya also offers some great accessories in bags, docking stations and earphones. These aren’t just any laptop bags, either. Caya offers beautifully made, high quality options for your camera, your computer or even your diaper bag. I was fully impressed, too, because the prices were absolutely comparable.
I really like the idea that Caya strives to reach each customer exactly where they are. That’s why they offer a number of different services and products at varying price ranges. They’re truly working at Caya to create a comfortable store where people feel welcome to browse, and they stand by your purchases by offering classes on how to work the products. If that’s not commitment to the customer, I don’t know what is.
One of the other things that I really liked hearing about at this event was how Caya works to support community incentives and events. Not only is this a store, but it transforms easily into a space for events, meetings and other community focused happenings. Supporting community incentives is SO important for companies to do, because I feel like I’m far more willing to put my money towards a business who pays it forward. Because Caya is a brand that’s looking to serve the customer uniquely, they can be found on Social Media all over the place.
