I’m not usually one to get really rigid about where I’m going to be. It’s pretty hard to nail me down some days because I like being out and about. I can nearly guarantee that my days at Blogher’11 in San Diego will be no different, but there are a few places that I know I’m going to be this year. There are incredible sessions and keynotes to listen to, and that’s not to mention finding time for the expo hall and feeding myself. While at Blogher’11, I’ll be communicating with my friends through text with textPlus, an excellent service I’ve been using for quite some time. TextPlus manages to basically turn my iPod touch into a texting device as long as I’m on WiFi internet. This includes message notifications as though my ipod touch was actually a phone. LOVE IT. And no, I’m not working for them. I just enjoy the capabilities that the application allows.
So this year at Blogher there are some amazing sessions, official Blogher parties and offsite events that many people are totally thrilled to be attending. We’ll be around at different sessions and events throughout the weekend with lots of moving and shaking to be sure. But there are a handful of events that I received invitations to that I wouldn’t miss for the world. I wanted to share with you the rough details of what we’ll be doing in San Diego over the Blogher weekend.
Unlike a lot of the people going, we decided to skip flying into San Diego directly. When we descend upon California, we’ll be doing so into Santa Ana, and moving onto our final destination in San Diego by taking an Amtrak Train. This puts us into San Diego on Thursday evening to start off the weekend in style with the Chevrolet Canadian Embassy at Blogher’11. This event is presented by Chevrolet (obv) and MomCentral Canada. I’m really excited that Annie and I are both going to have a chance to hang out for light appies at this event.
Afterwards, we’re going to have an hour off before our next amazing, invite-only event in downtown San Diego. This is going to be an amazing party with some fabulous single folks. That’s right, it’s the incredible Kiss Our Sass party presented by Match.com. Heading this event is Melysa of Sex, Lies and Bacon who is absolutely hilarious, sassy and fun. Annie and I are both heading to this event with high hopes, and I know that it’s going to be an absolute blast. The venue for this one is incredible, not to mention the swag that I’ve seen some sneak peaks on. This is a Thursday night party that we won’t want to miss.
Friday morning is the time to network and get introduced to some new and interesting brands and people. At 10:30, I’m going to do my best to hit The Write Brain: Essential Writing Skills. Like I’ve said before, I really want to use my time at Blogher to be learning as much as I’m networking so I’ve made a list of the most important sessions for me. Another one that I’ll be aiming to get to is the Impact session: Our Food Our Future, Kids cooking and health which we all know is right up my alley. That’s over at 4 pm, which will just give me enough time to hurry back to the hotel and get ready for one of the events that I’ve been looking most forward to: The Cheap Sally Dance Party. That one will be from 5:30 to 9:30. I’m looking forward to having some amazing good times with some close friends, old and new. I’m even sporting the badge on my sidebar for this party because that’s how excited I am about attending!
Saturday is totally a day for me to tie up loose ends, a little more networking and some time in the Expo Hall before we take off for a few days of fun in the Southern California Theme Parks.
What are your most exciting plans for Blogher’11?
