Ben Laila Donair

I love the neighbourhood that we live in. As far as living in the suburbs, it offers nearly anything that we could want. Quick and frequent bus service, beautiful mountain views, parks and a green belt with a ravine within walking distance, we are truly blessed to have our home. When it comes to restaurants and food, however, the local fare can sometimes leave more to be desired. That’s why I was excited when Ben Laila Donair moved in just a few blocks away. I kept meaning to try this authentic Israeli food for myself, and yet time kept slipping away from me. Finally, one day a few weeks ago I made a point of going in, after my indecision had led me back home. I was starving!

I love the atmosphere of this small, mom & pop shop style restaurant, which offers beef, chicken and lamb donair at comparative prices. The service was quick, personable, and the food was delicious. So delicious in fact that within a few days I had turned back up in their store to have some more.

I would recommend this little hidden gem to anyone in the area, and the word on the street is that the owners may be changing soon. If you’re a fan of donair, I seriously suggest that you check out this awesome small business in the tri-cities.
